Big Bad Beaver

Beaver Creek is located near Trail, BC, and flows into the Columbia River. Like most other creeks that drop into the Columbia, it has a large waterfall on it and until Thursday May 21st 2008 it had no known descent. I first found this waterfall on the internet a few years ago and have been out twice to check it out. Both times I really liked it and was keen to run it but had no one with me. So on Thursday with a crew packed up and heading out to the Kananaskis Whitewater Festival I was able to convince them to make the 15 min side trip to check it out. We measured the drop by throwing a rope over it and it came back at about 60 feet. Super high flows it made it look softer and more straightforward than either of the other two times I had looked at it before. The drop has two potential lines on it, the right line being good in high water and the left line is slightly more technical due to the tight left turn right at the lip. There isn't much else to say except that both Chris Ryman and I had clean lines and were super stoked. Thanks to Hayden and Jeremy for holding throw bags and to my dad for taking pictures.
