Boofing Madness in Ecuador!

We arrived into the country in November and we have been boofing our way across the Quijos and Napo valley since. A big crew of Vancouver paddlers were first to experience the stoutness of what Ecuador has to offer and they filled their booties with delicious whitewater and of course a few beers.

The crew logged over 10 different runs in 11 days and only had one mandatory hike out, one big water chunderfest on the Rio Oyacatchi, and as a result a few swims.  After putting on the Urcusici, a tributary to the Upper Jondachi the small creek flooded half way down resulting in a 2 hour jungle hike through tall sharp grass, thorns and knee deep mud. One of the crew members picked up a sponsorship with local energy drink company-- V220, hence his new nickname V2Bentley (pronounced Bey-Dos-Bentley).
The next crew from England were happy to chill on some of the more moderate rivers in the country but definitely represented the masters category well, bagging 10 different rivers and a few bootie beers as well. The lads were also joined by two lovely ladies from Germany who styled various river runs including a BIG water day on the lower Quijos section and topped the day off with a tour to the San Rafael Falls.

Lead guide Chris Ryman has been working hard to coordinate up to three separate river groups at a time to ensure our "we deliver the paddling you want" policy. His pregnant wife Annie has been cooking up a storm and hosting at the new lodge, the Ponderosa. The team also welcomed Australian young gun Rilley to the fold, while welcoming back Local guide extrodinaire Abraham and Rock solid super guide Dave Gore. No team would be complete without Abby Dent serving up local information and exciting adventures to the lagunas, zoo's and other Tena favourites. All in all the team is the best we have ever had in Ecuador and ready to rock a few more tours before returning to Canada for the plentiful powder of the British Colombian mountains.
